Note to Parents, Grandparents, Group Leaders, and Teachers:

A farm holds many wonders for children. In the fall, Gallrein Farms regularly hosts school groups for farm tours, hayrides, and other delights. From spring through fall, children come with their families to visit animals they come to know by name, to watch the bees, to enjoy seasonal activities, and to feed the ducks while their parents shop for the freshest, most delicious farm produce around. For information about group visits, contact Bill Gallrein, Jr., or Randie Gallrein for further information and to make arrangements. You may email, or call (502) 633-4849 or (502) 633-0724.

Kids, this farm's for you! Check out all there is to see and do!

One of the very best things about living on a farm is that we get to have pets of all different kinds. There are many animal friends waiting to meet you at our free Petting Zoo, including Eeyore the Sicilian donkey, Patrick the miniature horse, goats, sheep, pigs, calves, fluffy rabbits, and a llama.

You can feed the animals, too. They love that! If you keep your hand stretched out flat, as in the picture above, nobody will accidentally nibble your fingers!

After you meet Eeyore and Patrick, you can walk down to the pond to feed the ducks and geese. When you throw a little food into the pond, you can watch the giant catfish come to the surface to share in the feast.

When you've fed the ducks, head inside to watch bees making honey in their own observation beehive. They are busy at work between two plates of glass where they can't get out to sting you!

In the fall at pumpkin time, hop on a horsedrawn hayride with your friends and ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick your favorite pumpkin. This year, you will also be able to explore the four-acre corn maze we are growing especially for you. Come out and see if you and your friends can find your way through the maze.
